When a terrible storm flooded the village, Zeki waded through waist-deep water for days, hauling neighbors onto rooftops and rescuing scattered heirlooms by turning the chaos into tasks. Afterward, he rebuilt the half-collapsed shrine alone overnight, sorting every brick, polishing every icon, and praying in rigid patterns until he was certain a meticulous god was listening.
